"Carbon V" is code for whatever steel that Camillius was making for Cold Steel, and it originally was a form of 52100 but was later changed to a lesser carbon steel. Then over the years I noticed their knives go down in quality, namely in the "Carbon V" steel. I still own one of the early Cold Steel Kuhkris and it's a good brush knife. I bought a few of them and they worked well. When I became really interested in knives back around 1986, Cold Steel knives were the big market out there. I have a feeling this could be a result of frustration on LT's part as a result of many things including his being maligned in the community, and the fact that one of his major producers just went out of business and left him with a big hole in his product line. Too some, this will make LT look bad, too some it will make MS look bad, and many more probably just won't care. If you don't like what he does, don't buy his product. LT can conduct business any way he chooses, and face the results of it. Strider makes a unique product in that there are few others making anything similar (at least that I know of). Therefore, I doubt that this latest release from LT will have much effect on Strider's market. These accusations are "old news", and I'm sure that most Strider fans are well aware of them. A few years ago, I started reading some of the stuff regarding this subject and decided it was too tiring to care about.
